How to install a Mastercam post with .mcam-content extension

If you have Mastercam post file with the extension .mcam-content it is very easy to install.

Instructions

There are two ways to install this file.

  1. You can double click the mcam-contents file and it will automatically unzip its contents into the appropriate directories.

  2. If you open Mastercam 2020 you can drag the file into the Mastercam session and it will automatically extract the contents into the appropriate directories.

The mcam-contents file contains:

  1. mcam-mmd file

    1. Can be found in: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Shared Mastercam 2020\CNC_MACHINES

  2. mcam-control file

    1. Can be found in: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Shared Mastercam 2020\CNC_MACHINES

  3. pst (post) file

    1. Can be found in: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Shared Mastercam 2020\mill\Posts

    2. Within this file you can view the revisions and different features of the post.

After Installation you will be able to select your CNC machine before you start generating tool paths.
