How to add Robotmaster in antivirus exclusion
This article can help solve issues where Robotmaster is not working / no longer working after an antivirus update / is very slow.
The scope of this article is Robotmaster V6 for V7 some information might differ.
Instructions
There are three categories of items to add to the exclusion.
- Process execution
- Read/write in folders
- Communication between Mastercam and Robotmaster (Using Windows Communication Foundation WCF)
- Service execution
1) Process execution
- All process in the Mastercam program directory and subfolders need to have execution rights
- Typical Mastercam directory path is: C:\Program Files\Mcam# (The # sign represents a number associated to a version of Mastercam)
- All process in the Robotmaster program directory and subfolders need to have execution rights
- Typical Robotmaster directory path is: C:\Program Files\Hypertherm\Robotmaster V# (The # sign represents a number associated to a version of Robotmaster)
- CodeMeter must be allowed execution rights
- The paths are:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\CodeMeter
- C:\Program Files\CodeMeter
- The paths are:
2) Read/write in folders
- All Mastercam or Robotmaster program must have read and write access to the following directories and subfolders:
- Typical Mastercam directory path is: C:\Program Files\Mcam# (The # sign represents a number associated with a version of Mastercam)
- Typical Robotmaster directory path is: C:\Program Files\Hypertherm\Robotmaster V# (The # sign represents a number associated with a version of Robotmaster)
- Typical Shared directory path: C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared Mcam# (The # sign represents a number associated with a version of Mastercam)
- Temp folder path: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Temp (<user> represents the user name of the Windows session)
- User settings path C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Jabez_Technologies (<user> represents the user name of the Windows session)
- User settings path C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Hypertherm_Robotic_Softwa (<user> represents the user name of the Windows session)
3) Communication between Robotmaster and Mastercam
The communication is done through WCF using a .net pipeline of the following format:
Note: additional information is added at the end of each net.pipe
4) Service execution
Wibu services are used to connect with the license and must be allowed to run.
- The service is named: CodeMeter.exe
