Important Notice for 2024.2 Beta users

If you have previously installed the Beta version of Robotmaster 2024.2 please take a moment to read the information below to properly install the latest Robotmaster 2024.2 release version.

 

Installation Issue:

When uninstalling the Robotmaster 2024.2 Beta version there is a minor bug that creates a copy of the shared folder (Robotmaster 2024.2) and places this copy inside the Robotmaster 2024.2 folder, effectively creating a repeated nested folder. See image below.

This issue also happens if the release version is installed over a previously existing 2024.2 Beta version on the computer. This happens since installing over a version also triggers an uninstallation of the previous version.

This undesired behavior has been fixed in the latest 2024.2 installer, but if 2024.2 Beta was previously installed, please follow the instructions below to properly install the latest Robotmaster version.

 

How to properly install Robotmaster 2024.2 release if the Beta version was previously installed on the computer.

 

Recommended workflow [Uninstalling 2024.2 Beta first]

  1. Uninstall 2024.2 Beta

  2. Go to "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Robotmaster 2024.2"

  3. Do the following to manage the Robotmaster 2024.2 shared files

    1. If you do not want to keep any of the shared files: delete the Robotmaster 2024.2 located on the public documents (including the repeated folder)

    2. If you want to keep your 2024.2 Beta shared files, click and drag the "Robotmaster 2024.2" repeated folder into the Public Documents, which will trigger a Windows merge of the folders. Select replace the files in the destination with the same names.

  1. Install the new Robotmaster 2024.2 Release

 

If 2024.2 release was installed over a Beta version before following the previous instructions:

The nested folder issue will also occur. Similar to the previous case, you can proceed to delete the nested folder (only the nested in this case) if the beta files do not want to be kept, or to do a Windows merge of the two folders if the files want to be kept.
