Robotmaster 2024.2 - What's new & Downloads

Introducing Robotmaster 2024.2

Hypertherm Associates announces an update to its robotic programming software, including new part handling capabilities to enable end-to-end value stream programming.

New part handling capabilities with support for pick and place operations

Users can now program, simulate, and validate pick and place operations in Robotmaster. Users can program their entire value stream within a single solution by programming pick and place operations alongside path-intensive applications such as welding, cutting, spraying, grinding, polishing, and more.

Robotmaster’s pick and place functionality is device agnostic, which means that users can switch robots or other cell components without having to reprogram the pick and place operation. Furthermore, users can use Robotmaster’s engineering and planning tools to validate the robot size and reach for a given part or cell configuration, which facilitates the cell commissioning process.

New collaborative integration and commissioning tool

The e-Catalog is now available in Robotmaster via the cell editor. The e-Catalog allows users to easily access from the cloud a set of the most common robotic cell equipment, including robots, end-of-arm-tooling, and other components. Experience a new era of efficiency and collaboration with the Robotmaster e-Catalog. Elevate your robotic cell integration like never before!

In addition, this version update includes significant customer-driven improvements in UI (user interface), UX (user experience), the cell editor, and performance that will enhance the programming experience for all users.

What's new in Robotmaster 2024.2

Release Highlights

Robotmaster Pick and Place

Robotmaster 2024.2 introduces new part handling capabilities. Users can now simulate and program pick and place operations in Robotmaster and take advantage of all of Robotmaster’s powerful optimization and cell engineering/planning tools. This functionality compliments Robotmaster’s existing path-intensive applications by completing the value stream. Pick and place operations can be generated alongside other path-intensive operations to transfer objects, allowing the user to visualize and program the complete value stream in a single solution.

End-to-end value stream programming

  • Empowers users to program the complete value stream within a single programming solution: transfer objects to robotic stations, perform the process required (welding, cutting, grinding, painting, polishing, etc.), and remove the objects from the stations.

Flexible commissioning

  • Delivers easy and flexible cell commissioning as pick and place operations are programmed independently of the robotic system and gives users the flexibility to delete and replace cell components, including robots, without having to reprogram the entire pick and place process.

Robotmaster e-Catalog

Robotmaster 2024.2 introduces our latest advancement in Robotmaster's cell integration and commissioning tools: the e-Catalog. As an extension of our established Cell Creator and Cell Catalog, the e-Catalog offers a cloud-based solution for accessing robotic cell equipment, including robots, end-of-arm tooling, and other robotic cell components. This will facilitate and standardize the cell design, integration, and commissioning process in the cell editor.

User Interface and User Experience Improvements

Continuous enhancements in Robotmaster that improve user programming efficiency and experience:

  • New drag and drop capabilities:

    • Improved drag and drop capabilities and visual feedback for the user when moving and interacting with items on the part and device tree.

  • Improved setup and program reordering:

    • Improved process for reordering setups and programs allows users to easily change the order of operations giving them more flexibility and reducing programming time.

  • Enhancements in tool loading:

    • Users can now define default behavior when loading tooling such that it is not required to gather this input with each tool loading session.

  • Improved process for notifying users when a setup is missing tooling:

    • Robotmaster displays a red gear when the tooling is missing from the setup to identify to users that this is required before assigning the operation to a setup.

Other Improvements

Customer-driven enhancements have been incorporated in this version:

  • Negative spindle speeds from CAM Interface can now be imported to be used to define CCW spindle direction.

  • 3D Space mouse has now improvements with customizations available.

Cell and Tooling Editor Improvements

Several enhancements have been made to our integration and commission tools:

  • User frame automation:

    • Static user frames can now:

      • Be defined directly in the cell editor.

      • Be assigned to a configuration in the cell editor.

      • Be automatically loaded and selected in the programming session once the configuration is selected.

  • Cell Editor configuration organization

    • When frames are displayed in cell editor, they are now better organized
