Description

There are times when you may need to activate a Mastercam license using the activation wizard, or install an evaluation license.

For example, if you previously had Mastercam installed and it is using an old expired Hasp license, but you would like to update it or change the license to a Software [Evaluation] License.

If you are opening Mastercam for the first time after installation, a popup will usually occur asking if you would like to activate a license. If you click ‘Yes’ on the popup, it will bring you to the Activation Wizard.

How To

Activation Wizard

If you already have Mastercam installed you should have the activation wizard utility which you can bring up by typing in Activation Wizard into the windows search bar.

The activation wizard can also be downloaded at this link, it is listed under Utilities > Mastercam Activation Wizard Setup.

Once you click it you can follow the onscreen instructions to activate the license with the information provided to you (License and Activation code).

You can check if the Mastercam license has been updated by going into Mastercam and clicking
File > Help.
You can verify the license by checking the product information.

Command-lines (page 21 of the MC-2020-Administrator-Guide)

If your Mastercam launcher picks up a Software license instead of a Network (NHASP) or a HASP license and you want to change that, you can use command-lines. With command-lines you can do the following:

  • Overriding the initial license type.

  • Loading licenses for selected product and add-ons.

  • Requesting specific network licenses on start up.

  • Opening Mastercam in a particular product or product level, or to suppress products with single-user licenses.

License Types commands:

  • /H = Sets the initial license type to HASP

  • /N = Sets the initial license type to NetHASP

  • /Software = Sets the initial license type to Software (local, then network)

  • /SoftwareLocal = Sets the initial license type to Software (local only)

  • /SoftwareLan = Sets the initial license type to Software (network only)

How to use command-lines:

Other example: To command Mastercam to look for a NHASP license first, add a “ /N” at the end of the Target line.
