This article will show you how to add/select the correct machine definition for your robot in Mastercam. This machine definition (i.e. your robot) will always have to be selected before opening Robotmaster.

Instructions

  1. Click the Machine Tab

  2. Click Mill, a drop down menu should appear.

  3. Click Manage List

  4. In the Machine definition Menu Management, make sure the Current Machine Directory is set to your ‘\shared Mcam20XX\CNC_Machines’ directory usually found at C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared Mcam20XX\CNC_Machines\

  5. The box on the left side of the menu is populated with all the machine definitions .mcam-mmd listed in the directory listed above it. The box on the right are the machine definitions that will show when you click the Mill button in step 2.

  6. Choose the brand of your robot from the left box and Add it to the right box. (For example, If you have a Fanuc robot, you would choose the ROBOTMASTER_V6_FANUC.mcam-mmd) Click the green check mark to confirm.

  7. Now you will be able to easily select your robot machine definition in Mastercam within the mill drop down menu before you open up Robotmaster.

Remember to select your robot brand before creating your toolpaths.
