Issue

When trying to run the ToolKitActivator.exe the following error pops up

Solution

The Toolkit Activator Zip contains two files

  1. ToolkitActivator.exe

  2. ToolKitActivator.exe.config

These are what files should look like

An error occurs when the ToolKitActivator.exe.config file is executed. Sometimes the files will be displayed with improper icons or missing a proper file extension; this depends on how certain file extensions are configured to run on the system.

Note the missing file extension and blacked out icon

In the picture above, there is a ToolKitActivator.exe file, but this is not the file to execute. The ToolkitActivator file without the file extension is the file that should be executed.

If you are unsure of which file to run, take a look at their file size. The proper .exe file will be the larger file (usually ~7 KB).
