Convention of group number and axis label.docx

Problem

Please see attached document that explains the errors that occur when posting a program in V7 that has a device badly configured. This happens often when doing demos and using old V6 cells.

Solution

Motoman

  • "ERROR: The groupNumber tag in the ROBX file is not valid. Posting will be stopped."
    • The group number must contain a value between 1-9.
  • "ERROR: The base (rail) axes label tag in the ROBX file is not valid. Posting will be stopped."
    • The label must be of the following format: BS#_E# where # is between 1-3.
      • For example: BS1_E1, BS3_E2, etc.
    • "ERROR: The station (rotary) axes label tag in the ROBX file is not valid. Posting will be stopped."
      • The label must be of the following format ST#_R# where # is between 1-4.
        • For example: ST1_E1, ST3_E2, etc.

NOTE:

  • The BS# and ST# represent the machine unit name which is seen in the robotic code on the control group line.
  • The E# and R# represent the external axis label name which is used to map the output of the external axis to the specific.

          

Fanuc

  • "ERROR: The groupNumber tag in the ROBX file is not valid. The groupNumber must be between 1 and 5. Posting will be stopped."
    • The group number must contain a value between 1-5.
  • "ERROR: The rail/rotary axes label tag in the ROBX file is not valid. Posting will be stopped."
    • The label must be one of the following: E1, E2, E3, E4, E5.

Cloos

  • "ERROR: The rail/rotary axes label tag in the ROBX file is not valid. Posting will be stopped."
    • The label for rotaries must be one of the following: R1, R2.
    • The label for rails must be one of the following: E1, E2, E3.

Kuka

  • "ERROR: Rail axis ID not valid: XXX”
    • The label for rails must be one of the following: E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6.
  • "ERROR: Rotary axis ID not valid: XXX”
    • The label for rotaries must be one of the following: E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6.

KukaCNC

  • "ERROR: Rail axis ID not valid: XXX.”
    • The label for rails must be one of the following: E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6.
  • "Rotary axis ID not valid: XXX.”
    • The label for rotaries must be one of the following: E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6.

Hiwin

  • "ERROR: The rail/rotary axes label tag in the ROBX file is not valid. Posting will be stopped."
    • The label for must be one of the following: E1, E2, E3, E4, E5.

IGM

  • "ERROR: The rail/rotary axes label tag in the ROBX file is not valid. Posting will be stopped."
    • The label for must be one of the following: A1, A2, A3, A4, A5.

Staubli

  • "ERROR: The rail/rotary axes label tag in the ROBX file is not valid. Posting will be stopped."
    • The label for rotaries must be one of the following: R1, R2.
