This file configures mapping of all plasma cutting settings to specific database columns. This file references a Cut Chart Database file. You can have different configuration file pointing towards the same Cut Chart Database file. Currently, this file also contains the consumable library. Detailed breakdown of Cut Chart Configuration file format and inner logic is available in a dedicated article.

Cut Chart Sheet

A sheet in the Cut Chart Database file that contains a specific set of parameters best suited for a certain cutting technique (regulat, small holes etc.).

Cut Chart Column

A single column in a Cut Chart Sheet that contains a set single parameter values for various processes.

Cut Chart Entry

Refers to one line of the cut chart database (also calledprocess, record), which includes a complete set of parameters for a given plasma cutting process.

Process ID

A unique identification code that is used as a Cut Chart Entry label.

Consumables

Consumable set

A predefined geometry that visualizes tip of the plasma torch used and plasma jet. Based on the geometry values contained in Cut Chart Configuration file, a Robotmaster tool assembly is automatically created with a given plasma cutting operation.

Consumable segment

Shield Cap

...

A single cylindrical geometry segment that is defined by three parameters: segment upper diameter, segment lower diameter, segment height. The combination of these segments constitutes a 3D model of plasma torch consumales for a given process in Robotmaster.

Plasma jet

Section of the plasma beam between the nozzle tip and the surface being cut, represented in Robotmaster by a yellow cylinder. Cylinder height is equal to cut height, and ceylinder diameter is equal to kerf width.

Plasma Cut Path

Path Filter

Path Name

Bevel

...

An algorithm that generates cutting trajectories for a given CAD model in the Plasma Cutting operation. It includes a number of unique features such as intelligent feature recognition for multi-cut paths, hole association and others.

Path list

The list of all the Plasma Cut Path generated trajectories that were added by the user.

Path name

A name of each Plasma Cut Path that the module generates is unique for a given operation and includes the number of a hole and cut for easier differentiation between various single- and multi-cut features.

Multi-cut feature

A feature that requires more than one cutting trajectory to be completely cut. A good example of such feature would be a multi-face bevel.

cutting parameters

Contains the filtering mechanism of Cut Chart Entries, plasma settings and motion settings sections.

Tool and speed

Displays information about the auto-generated consumable set, and allows the user to edit certain speed values.

Path parameters

Contains parameters that define motion types allowed in the operation, number of points and certain tool orientation parameters.

Retract Heights

Contains parameters which define the number and coordinates of transitional (approach and retract) points in the operation.

Entry Exit

Defines the lead-in/lead-out shape, length and the tool orienation during these motions.

Height Sensing

Allows the user to define several different types of ohmic search sequences to be used for path adjustment and correction.
