Table of Contents

The deposition module within Robotmaster V6 is useful for applications such as welding and additive manufacturing (e.g. Wire arc additive manufacturing [WAAM], concrete printing). It simulates the deposition of material onto a part or buildup of material relative to the TCP of the end of arm tooling.

Basic Controls

The icon for Material Deposition can be found in the far right corner of the upper ribbon in Robotmaster V6, next to 3D PDF.

...

If you click on the icon a drop down menu will appear with several options

...

  • Off - This will disable material deposition; no material will appear when the play button is pressed on the simulation bar.

  • On - This will enable material deposition; material deposition will be simulated relative to the TCP

  • Show/hide - This option only effects material that has already been simulated; it is toggled between show and hide. If you were to hide the current material and then play the simulation while material deposition is on, it will still simulate material being deposited (even if toggled to hide)

  • Clear - This option will erase all material deposition that has been previously simulated

  • Settings - Explained below

Info

Material Width and Thickness values are metric (mm)

Material Width - This is the horizontal distance/diameter of the simulated material

Material Thickness - This is the vertical distance/diameter of the simulated material

...

Material Color - Color of simulated material

Material Shape

This is the shape of the simulated material.

Round - The material will be a circular shape and will always appear ‘full’ or solid.

Square - The material will appear
