Tool parameters

Tool number

This used by default in the TCP manager and should ideally match the tool number used in real life.

Tool name

A name for the tool, used for reference only. It does not affect the program. Use a short, unique name that makes it easy to identify the drilling tool. For example, Face Mill 30 mm dia .

Tool description

More descriptive text will be included alongside the tool name in some areas of Robotmaster. For example, Face Mill 30 mm dia 5 mm max depth 6 cutter.

Milling tool type

Set the Milling tool type to apply parameters to the tool.

• Flat End Mill
  Standard CNC drill bit with uniform diameterflat end mill.

• Ball End Mill
  Center drill with tapered tipBall end mills have a rounded tip and uniform tool diameter.

• Chamfer Mill
  CNC spotting drill with an angled tip.

• Slot Mill
  Sharp tipped brad point drill.Mill with slotted flute section.

• Radial Mill
  CNC bore drill.

• Dovetail Mill
  CNC counter bore drill with a flat (non-angled) tip.

• Taper Mill
  Counter sink drill. Use Tip angle to match angle of countersink.

• Bull End
  Tapping tool for right-handed threading.

• Engraving Mill
  Tapping tool for left-handed threading.
